This is a book by the Ecuadorian Juan León Mera. As a curiosity this is the first novel Ecuador. Referring to the first ten chapters of the novel is about love between two people of different cultures and races. On the one hand the European culture and the other is more specifically indigenous culture indigenous Ecuadorians. The novel begins with an exaggerated description of the nature along the Ecuadorian rainforest. in particular, the author describes the river Postaza which credits him for having the banks' most grossly beautiful.
